The Age of Visual Clutter

Another photo from our session at Arts on Main. We were practising zoom bursts, and I liked how this man seemed kind of thoughtful and serene inside the chaos and colour of the rest of the mural, so I tried to have him as my centre point for the zoom burst.

Did some cropping, brought down the reds and yellows a bit, and upped the blacks to ensure the eye is drawn to the man as the focal point of the photo. Also did a small amount of sharpening. All in LR.

Taken with my Canon 18-55mm kit lens.

1/25 sec at f5.6, ISO 100, handheld

Cool shot, a well-executed zoom burst with just enough blur. I like the splashes of bright colour with the almost monochrome subject in the middle. It just shows, how effective a bit of technique combined with visual intelligence can be. Well done!
