Probably could of squeezed a stop or two out of the apperture and shutter speed and dropped the ISO?

I agree with your remarks regarding the ISO settings. Getting the old tripod out is absolutely vital for proper landscape photography. As it is, your image seems flat and lacklustre with strong halos on the horizon.
